The annual membership meeting of Denver Field Ornithologists in April has a lively new twist this year. Instead of a Zoom webinar, we will host our first Gear Up and Get Out Sale! -- an in-person-only event on Saturday, April 25 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Belmar Heritage Park Visitor Center, 801 S. Yarrow St. in Lakewood.
This combination weekend marketplace and mixer is a great opportunity to:
- Clear out your closet of gently used gear (birding optics, accessories, guides and books, apparel, etc.)
- Shop for new and used birding equipment at vendor tables
- Enter to win a door prize
- Meet local tour guides to explore your next birding travel adventure
- Learn about Colorado Field Ornithologists and Greenwood Wildlife
- Join a a pre-event field trip at Belmar Park before GU+GO
- Meet your newly elected board of directors and officers of DFO
Got gear to donate or sell? Here's how you do it. Enter your information on the Google form -- OR download the PDF of the form to print and include with your gear -- and answer all the questions. Then, either bring your items with you to Gear Up and Get Out, or drop them off before April 24 at a couple of locations in the area. (Please note: For items valued at $100 or more, you can opt to have DFO sell for a donation commission of 20% of the total.)
