This trip will be a multi-day trip and will involve birding the desert and sky islands of SE Arizona. The itinerary will involve birding in hot conditions and at elevation, both in the same day. We will visit hot spots and will attempt to find some of the rarities that are well known in this part of the country. Plan for long days and a lot of full-contact birding. Some of the target species may require hikes or longer walks up difficult terrain to reach. Some night time birding will also be offered. Temperatures may reach over 100 degrees for parts of the trip and planning for hot weather, food, water, and birding at elevation in cooler conditions are important. Also, Arizona is well known for a wide variety of wildlife. We may or may not encounter - Scorpions, Poisonous Snakes, Tarantulas, or Gila Monsters.
